How the Wolf Pack Was Cast

USA Today brings us the inside scoop to the criteria for securing a part as the wolf pack.
No. 1 on the list: Native American or First Nation ancestry, because their characters belong to the Quileute tribe, based in La Push, Wash., both in the book and in real life.

"They had to have papers that proved their heritage," says
director Chris Weitz, who was the one who insisted on hiring within the
community. "And they had to be in good physical shape."

The Twilight
sequel is filming now, and between takes, the actors usually are working out
with barbells, doing push-ups or chowing down on steak, Weitz says. "They went
through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a
bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove
each other to get more buff."

Instead, the transformations are
computer-generated, although one part of each wolf might seem familiar.

"They all have the actor's eyes," Weitz says.
Wolves with the actor's eyes? That to me sounds genius! Can't wait to see what it will look like =)

Demi Lovato on New Moon?

So the latest star to want to hop on the New Moon/Twilight band wagon is Demi Lovato. It has just been brought to attention that she wants to be involved in New Moon, cast or soundtrack (both?) (source: New Moon Movie).

And I might lose a lot of followers from my blog by saying this (who am I kidding, I only have 2 followers, and if you 2 can't handle my opinion then don't let the door hit you on the way out!) but I like her, she's cute, and funky, and not OTT like Miley Cyrus. I even like her voice. I'm not saying this coz I'm a fan of her or that I follow her work. I just think the girl needs a fair chance when it comes down to New Moon.

I hardly ever comment on other sites, but yeah everyone is tearing her apart! All with varying degrees of "NO TO DISNEY!!". Okay, I get she's Disney, and a lot of those people are saying "it's not that she's Disney", whilst all the while saying "she should stick to Disney!!" - I don't know, so mind boggling. But yeah, so what if she's Disney? I put all that aside, who cares about her past or present, what should matter is her potential! Music styles can change, I like a wide range of music, I seriously do, and even my favourite artist can produce music that is not their usual style. I never thought Paramore's songs would fit Twilight, but they wrote Decode for Twilight, and it worked didn't it? It'd be a challenge for her.

And gosh what about Jackson, he was Disney! should we kick him out of New Moon too?

Heck, we all know Disney stars don't need any more help being propelled into the spotlight - being a Disney star does that all for them!
The point of this rant is....don't rule her out based on her celeb appearance status before you give her a fair chance.

Now rant aside *calms down and starts speaking less defensively and more coherently and logically...*

I think that although she has a good voice, unless she can change her style of music, or tone it down to something a little more soulful and not so upbeat she shouldn't be on the New Moon soundtrack.
As for the acting, I think she could make a nice addition to Quileute Res (maybe, doubt she's any amount of Native American...). I've only seen her on Camp Rock (yes it was TV and there was nothing else on....STOP JUDGING ME!!!) but I think she could handle a small role on the wolf side. I'd give her that at least. She seems a bit young though, maybe Eclipse? oh maybe she could play Rachel (haha)

and at least she's a fan of Twilight, and has actually SEEN it.

side note, do you think maybe soon there will be some news about Kelly Clarkson on the New Moon soundtrack? o_O I mean she is also a big fan...and all these celeb fans seem to want a piece of twilight...would Twilight fans accept Kelly Clarkson? hmmm....I shall ponder that myself since no one comments on here anyway (hahah <- laughs with self)

"5 Reasons Why New Moon Could be Better Than Twilight"

The Deadbolt gives us the run down of reasons why they think New Moon could be better than Twilight.
Here's the original story: The Deadbolt Feature
Here's my cut down version (my 2 cents :p):

Here are 5 reasons why we think New Moon could be better than Twilight:

"New characters, new conflict": Basically the main story has already been developed, which leaves New Moon to focus on going deeper into the foundations already laid - what we've known as truths or realities in Twilight will be tested and questioned. Cue the complexities of love.

"Starlet in Shadows: Dakota Fanning?" The addition of Dakota Fanning will definitely mean that the acting standards will be raised. She is pretty well known for being a child actor. "Although many fans have questioned whether Fanning for role of Jane is the right choice, Dakota brings to the table a masterful range of emotion and a wealth of A-list experience." <- I agree. The girl can act. How can someone who can act not make the film much better (not saying our twilight cast can't act of course). I seriously think some people are just anti-child stars. I've always thought of her as a "child star" but I've always envied her coz she can act! and seeing her now pictures, she sure has grown up too!

"Digging deeper in the name of love": "The success of New Moon over Twilight lies in the ability of actors to inhabit their characters on a deeper level. What Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson bring to Bella and Edward for New Moon will require more than just reading lines from a page. Twilight showed us the magic of an inevitable love story and New Moon will continue the saga in a richer manner. It’s the love story that will force Pattinson and Stewart to go deeper inside themselves as actors than they did in Twilight. Usually when people reach deep and go beyond their comfort zones, good things happen. In this case, it will all be in the name of love." <- I couldn't have put it better myself. New Moon does encompass some serious complex ideas. Think the power of love. think Romeo and Juliet. Think epic love. It all goes beyond the 'superficial' argument that I've often heard about why Edward and Bella shouldn't be together - that there is nothing more to their relationship than Edward's lust for Bella's blood. Those people are WRONG. okay....maybe I went a little off track there (haha).

"Setting the new mood": new/more settings - more locations = more possibilites. "slumping economy" means more value for their American dollar in Vancouver = technically a bigger budget (in vancouver). Bigger budget = even bigger possibilites. (YUSS!)

"The Quileute Tribe and the Legend": More of the Quileute legend - "legend and lore allow fans to journey deeper into the mythology and intricacies of New Moon’s opposing forces." In short insight into the Vampire/Werewolf rivalry-enemy stuff. More history, more back story, adding another dimension to the already built twilight dimensions. And also essentially complicating things.
