Who should be cast as Alec?

Or maybe he's already been cast?! that would be a laughing point - while we're all busy pre-occupied with Dakota as Jane, Alec may have already been cast.

well, we don't have confirmation on that, but there's now some solid speculation!

New York Post have posted an article about which actors should play Alec...with their points on pros and cons.

and the nominees are....
Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter)

Skandar Keynes (Edmund from Narnia)

Freddie Highmore (Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Gaspard Ulliel (young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising)
Alex Pettyfer (Alex in Stormbreaker)

What do you guys reckon on this one? I think, for me anyway, out of these 5 contenders (unofficial) it should be either Alex Pettyfer - he could look like Dakota, or Freddie Highmore - doesn't look like Dakota but looks like he's deceptively evil! other than that it would be Tom Felton...but I'm not totally sure on Tom as Alec, he could do just as well as the others. Lets see him side by side with Dakota first....

Dakota Confirmed.

It seems that Dakota Fanning has been confirmed for New Moon. Awesome. I really can't wait to see her as Jane!

All is not well between demon-magnet Bella and Edward Cullen, her vampire Romeo. An innocent papercut at Edward’s house puts Bella in grave danger when various members of the Cullen family can barely resist their hunger at the smell of blood. The Cullens promptly leave town, afraid of endangering Edward’s beloved, and Bella sinks into an overwhelming depression. Months later, she finally emerges from her funk to rebuild her life, focusing on her friendship with besotted teen Jacob from the reservation. Bella’s unhealthy enthrallment to Edward leads her into dangerous and self-destructive behavior despite her new friends, and supernatural complications are bound to reappear. Bella’s being hunted by an evil vampire, and Jacob’s adolescent male rage turns out to be incipient lycanthropy: It seems many Quileute Indians become werewolves in the presence of vampires, their natural enemies. (March 23 - May 20 / will shoot in the ancient Tuscan city of Volterra for two weeks in May - Release date Nov. 20, 2009)

Of course we all know nothing is confirmed until they're in the movie acting out the scene. I mean look at Annalynne McCord - one minute confirmed then next minute out, then next minute in...well you get the drift!

"5 Reasons Why New Moon Could be Better Than Twilight"

The Deadbolt gives us the run down of reasons why they think New Moon could be better than Twilight.
Here's the original story: The Deadbolt Feature
Here's my cut down version (my 2 cents :p):

Here are 5 reasons why we think New Moon could be better than Twilight:

"New characters, new conflict": Basically the main story has already been developed, which leaves New Moon to focus on going deeper into the foundations already laid - what we've known as truths or realities in Twilight will be tested and questioned. Cue the complexities of love.

"Starlet in Shadows: Dakota Fanning?" The addition of Dakota Fanning will definitely mean that the acting standards will be raised. She is pretty well known for being a child actor. "Although many fans have questioned whether Fanning for role of Jane is the right choice, Dakota brings to the table a masterful range of emotion and a wealth of A-list experience." <- I agree. The girl can act. How can someone who can act not make the film much better (not saying our twilight cast can't act of course). I seriously think some people are just anti-child stars. I've always thought of her as a "child star" but I've always envied her coz she can act! and seeing her now pictures, she sure has grown up too!

"Digging deeper in the name of love": "The success of New Moon over Twilight lies in the ability of actors to inhabit their characters on a deeper level. What Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson bring to Bella and Edward for New Moon will require more than just reading lines from a page. Twilight showed us the magic of an inevitable love story and New Moon will continue the saga in a richer manner. It’s the love story that will force Pattinson and Stewart to go deeper inside themselves as actors than they did in Twilight. Usually when people reach deep and go beyond their comfort zones, good things happen. In this case, it will all be in the name of love." <- I couldn't have put it better myself. New Moon does encompass some serious complex ideas. Think the power of love. think Romeo and Juliet. Think epic love. It all goes beyond the 'superficial' argument that I've often heard about why Edward and Bella shouldn't be together - that there is nothing more to their relationship than Edward's lust for Bella's blood. Those people are WRONG. okay....maybe I went a little off track there (haha).

"Setting the new mood": new/more settings - more locations = more possibilites. "slumping economy" means more value for their American dollar in Vancouver = technically a bigger budget (in vancouver). Bigger budget = even bigger possibilites. (YUSS!)

"The Quileute Tribe and the Legend": More of the Quileute legend - "legend and lore allow fans to journey deeper into the mythology and intricacies of New Moon’s opposing forces." In short insight into the Vampire/Werewolf rivalry-enemy stuff. More history, more back story, adding another dimension to the already built twilight dimensions. And also essentially complicating things.

7 New Moon Secrets...

OK! Magazine have revealed the "7 secrets of the twilight sequel"

#1: No Narnia in New Moon

Despite speculation that British
actor Ben Barnes, last seen as Prince Caspian in the Narnia movies, would play
Aro, the sinister leader of the vampire world, his L.A.-based agent, Nick Reed,
sets the record straight: "Although Ben has enjoyed much of the speculation, we
haven't had any calls. There's no truth to it."

#2: Bella's Boy On Set

Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, will crush the rumors of romance with Robert Pattinson by keeping four-year-love Michael Angarano close. "Her boyfriend will come to visit her on set," an insider tells OK!.

#3: The Best is Still Unwritten

With filming just weeks away, the cast (with many roles still undecided) haven't seen their lines! "I am waiting to get my hands on the script. I am looking forward to getting to work!" Justin Chon, who played Bella's onetime suitor in Twilight, Eric Yorkie, tells OK!.

#4: 90210 Stars Sign Up

AnnaLynne McCord will sink her teeth into the role of Heidi. Gal pal to Emmett Cullen, aka Kellan Lutz, she says, "I'm so obsessed with vampires!" 90210 actor Brandon Michael Vayda will play Jared the werewolf.

#5: Paramore is Back on Track

Rockers Paramore helped launch the Twilight soundtrack to No. 1 with their single "Decode." Now, sources tell OK! that the group is penning New Moon's title track. Meanwhile, RPattz, who contributed two songs to the first soundtrack, may sit this one out. "I really didn't want it to look like I was trying to cash in," says the modest immortal.

#6: Taylor: From Wuss to Wolf

How did Taylor Lautner pack on 25 pounds of muscle to play Quileute tribe member and werewolf Jacob Black? "A diet high in carbs and protein," Mark Beier, personal training manager for Crunch in Chicago, tells OK!.

#7: Dakota Goes Gothic

The author describes the evil vampire Jane – who inflicts pain on blood-suckers by thought alone – as having a face that would make a Botticelli angel look like a gargoyle." And Dakota Fanning is a shoo-in for the part! The Push star tells OK!, "It would be a fantastic experience."

AWESOME! - what's with all these 90210 stars on twilight though...first Kellan (don't get me wrong, whom I love), now Annalynne now this Brandon Michael Vayda dude (must google him....). Oh it's coz Twilight is now the new IT girl :p
