The Twilight juggernaut is propelling the 23-year-old British actor to the heights of mega stardom and, having previously only played minor roles, most notably as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he is making the most of it.
The small independent movie, Remember Me, was able to go ahead as the result of his casting and Pattinson is now in Unbound Captives, a western set in 1859, where the world's sexiest youngster gets to act alongside the "Sexiest Man Alive", Hugh Jackman.
"The Twilight fans are so devoted, even fanatical, that I'm now able to do so many films," Pattinson says. "The economy is just so bad at the moment. I don't care if they think I'm right for the part or not. I can get their movie made, which is great."
The trim actor says what has happened to him has been "pure luck." After all, handsome Henry Cavill, who made a dashing impression in TV's The Tudors as Henry's friend, the Duke of Suffolk, had been Twilight author Stephanie Meyer's original choice to play Edward Cullen, the lovelorn vampire who falls in love with the human Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
But Cavill was too old by the time the blockbuster movie went ahead and Pattinson won the role instead. "I never set out to achieve anything, certainly not fame like this," he admits. "I still have to deal with how to actually make my life work."
The obvious comparison regarding his ascent to stardom is with Daniel Radcliffe who, even if he gets his gear off on stage, will forever be known as Harry Potter. Like his fellow Briton, Pattinson has gone against the puerile grain of Twilight to appear in gay sex scenes for his portrayal of the Spanish painter Salvador Dali in Little Ashes.
Pattinson hopes his Twilight role will leave him without the typecasting that Radcliffe will surely face. "I worked on Harry Potter for 11 months and I couldn't imagine doing that for all those years. I don't know how those guys have stayed sane. I would go completely crazy, hardly being able to do anything else for so long."
Pattinson was contracted to do the four Twilight movies and once Eclipse wraps up in Vancouver, only Breaking Dawn remains to be filmed. "They were all filmed quickly and painlessly," he says.

"For me, a vampire was just an embodiment of that person who's in a bad place and who's told, 'You can't be anything more than what you are'.I personally liked that part :)
"And then the vampire says, 'I'm not going to be what I am, I'm going to be what I want to be'. I love that. My life has been pretty easy, but you see people who overcome enormous odds. And this was a fantasy metaphor for that kind of person."

"I can’t even begin to tell you how nice the cast was. They asked for us to wait to take photos until mainly after the show because they didn’t want to take the spotlight from Jackson’s band, and they were incredibly kind, classy, and friendly. And they mostly hung out in the crowd all night, just enjoying the show like everyone else. Mindblowing! Kudos, Twilight cast. You really are a one-of-a-kind group. Thanks for putting up with us fans!"oh and on why Kellan has a scarf around his face looking all goofy (adorable :p)
"Meanwhile, Kellan hangs out with us and takes some photos, and does some really funny stuff. Wish I could have gotten a video of him. He’s pretty much exactly what I imagined Emmett to be. He’s silly, goofy… he used his scarf to make a ninja outfit and tried to scare different groups of girls. It was hilarious."

About his start in the entertainment industry, I asked Jackson, “You got your earliest start with Pickwick Players doing musical theatre, right? What was it about that group that got you interested in joining them?” Jackson answered, “Pickwick Players at ole’ MCT in Midland, Texas, was my rough beginnings.” Says he, “my parents made me join the program because I wasn’t making friends at school when our family moved to Midland, and my sister had joined the group. I started off as a tech-guy, building sets and running sound and the lighting boards . . . then I noticed the guys on stage were [the ones] getting all the girls, so . . . there you go.” Apparently, then, Jackson’s earliest start in the acting world was inspired by his love of the ladies.Okay, cute pun aside, I love this dude. He's so charasmatic! He makes a perfect Jasper in my opinion, they got it perfectly right with that :D
About the film, I asked Jackson Rathbone, “In New Moon, your character is supposed to take a bigger bite (pun intended) into the series, with Jasper showing his more thirsty side. How are you preparing yourself for these scenes?” Jackson replied, “for that pun, you should be ‘pun’ished . . . I haven’t had a drink in 35 days.” Clever fellow, he is.

British actor Jamie Campbell-Bower has revealed he will play Volturi leader Caius in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.I may be a newbie at this, but it does seem to me like they've up-played Caius' role above the rest of the Volturi. It's Aro that is more of the leader if ever there was one. The trio (Aro, Caius and Marcus) make up the Volturi leaders, but this report kind of makes it seem like Caius is the head honcho in Italy. I have to disagree. Aro is the most leader-ish one. I wanna know who's been cast as Aro!
The 20-year-old, who has appeared in RockNRolla and Sweeney Todd, told the BBC news website that taking part in the vampire series was "very exciting".
"You're the first people I've told" he said. "Shooting has already started, and I'm going over in June."
The film, due for release in November, is the second adaptation from author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.
The role of Caius is key to the plot of New Moon. He forms part of the triumvirate leading the Italian based coven of vampires called the Volturi.
The second book in the series sees the gang become a threat to lovers Bella and Edward.
